In Norwegian cultural history, plaiting and wicker work can be traced back to the early viking period, and with its many shapes and functions it has historically played an important role in the Norwegian everyday life.
Launched as part of the series Bread ‘n’ Butter - a duo consisting of the Preg D17 Butter box and bread baskets. We’ve drawn inspiration from Japanese plaiting techniques, and braided an asymmetrical and sculptural basket that contrasts the specific shape of the bentwood box found in Preg D17. Each basket is braided by hand and therefore unique. The sizes may vary slightly from the information below.
