Loft, Torshov
In a three storey loft at Torshov we’ve coloured walls, ceiling, cornices and windows. Each room has been given its own complex colour palette, which also functions in combination with adjacent colours in nearby rooms.
The starting point for the colour palette was the stairwell with its eclectic blue hue on the walls. In combination with a pink ceiling, an energetic and dynamic experience is created when moving between the floors.
The fundamental principle for the colour palette is active use of cool hues in bedrooms, calm and warm hues in areas of relaxation, and more energetic colours in spaces you mainly pass through. In addition to this, we’ve added colours that contrast or harmonise with the main hues.
To compensate for the complex and varied colour palette, no ceilings or cornices are white. In this way all colours are seen in combination with an adjacent colour, which as a whole reduces the contrasts and creates a balance when moving between the rooms. The result is a complex and colourful loft.
